Madden's on Gull Lake is Minnesota's Classic Resort, offering our guests gracious hospitality in an upscale setting. Located on over 1,000 acres with over a mile of Gull Lake shoreline, Madden's has 287 guest rooms, 6 restaurants, 63 holes of golf and the finest conference and recreational facilities. Our season runs from mid-April through late October each year.

Madden's has received many accolades from industry experts, including '33rd Best Public Golf Course in North America' and the prestigious Golf Digest 5-Star Award.

Madden's is located 12 miles northwest of Brainerd on the south end of Gull Lake. During the summer months, Brainerd is Minnesota's top tourist destination. The area buzzes with activity of restaurants, night clubs, movie theaters, amusement attractions, Brainerd International Raceway, antique and shopping malls, the Paul Bunyan Bike Trail, hiking trails and so much more!

Dining Room Supervisor

Dining Room Server
Serve guest meals using menu service, banquet service, or buffet service at any of the five different food outlets at Madden's. Requires a minimum of 4 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Housekeeping
Perform cleaning functions in guest rooms and public areas. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Event Services
Set up meeting rooms, audio visual equipment and coffee breaks. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and mini-mum lifting ability of 100 pounds. Clean driving record is required.

Guest Services
Assist guests through transportation services, baggage handling, room delivery, light maintenance. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 lbs. Clean driving record is required.

Kitchen Prep
Preparing various foods for various meal functions, may include dishwashing. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Dishwasher
Includes washing dishes and overall cleaning of kitchen. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Parfecto Pizza
Preparing pizza, sandwiches, salads; working closely with the public, running a cash register and making deliveries (requires a clean driving record and your own vehicle). Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Bartender
Serving in one of Madden's two lounges or special party functions. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Cocktail Server
Serving in one of Madden's two lounges or special party functions. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Cook
Preparing a variety of foods for all types of meal functions, may include line cooking. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Bakers Helper
Preparing various bakery items including muffins, danish, pies, buns and cakes, as well as clean-up. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Desk Clerk
Work closely with the public, knowledge of computers, ability to learn quickly and an outgoing personality. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 20 pounds.

Golf Course Maintenance
Positions include landscaping, resort grounds, and golf grounds maintenance, pesticide applicators, irrigation technicians, cup setters, and equipment operators. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds. Clean driving record is required.

Golf Staff
Pro Shop Clerks, Starters, Driving Range attendants, Rangers. Staff rotate through our three golf courses. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Marina
Assist guests with watercraft rental, maintain watercraft, beach clean up. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and a minimum lifting ability of 50 pounds.

Recreation Staff
Assist guests in bike rentals, give instruction in croquet, lawn bowling, tennis, shuffleboard, badminton, horseshoes. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Adventure Cove Children's Program
Supervise and interact with children at various functions, on and off the property. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Madden Bros. Market
Make and serve coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, pastries; sell gifts, beer, wine, liquor. Requires a minimum of 7 hours standing time and minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds.

Live at Madden's

Madden's is unique in many ways, but one that sets us apart from most is that we offer onsite housing for employees who do not have local housing available.

Employees are housed in dormitories or cabins; single and shared rooms are available. Rooms are fully furnished with a bed, dresser, desk, chair, lamp, bed linens and towels. Housing charges of $4 per day are made through payroll deduction.

Employees who work through the last day of the season and satisfactorily complete their work and housing agreements may be eligible for a return of a portion of housing charges. Madden's offers on-site employee meals (10-meal punch card for $30) and internet access to live-on staff.

Madden's is proud to offer the finest recreational amenities to our guests and offer use to our employees, as well.
Employee use is always conditional on availability of space--guests come first.

Driving Range: 50% off range balls

Golf: Full time employees may golf Pine Beach East, Pine Beach West or Social 9 free of charge. Golf carts are $10 per cart. Guests pay a nominal fee.

Swimming Pools and The Classic: Employees will be permitted to golf The Classic and use Madden's swimming pools on designated days only, which will be posted in employee newsletter.

Pro Shop: 25% off clothing, 10% off goods.

Parfecto Pizza: 15% off any purchase.

Marina: Use of non-motorized boats is free of charge to employees. Motorized boats may be rented for 50% off.

Tennis & Croquet Center: Equipment, including bicycles, at the Tennis & Croquet center may be used free of charge.

Exercise Room: The exercise equipment may be used at designated times only.

Bars: Off-shift employees are not permitted in Madden's bars, except for very special circumstances, which will require the permission of your manager.

At Madden's, we believe in putting our best foot forward by presenting ourselves in a professional manner every day. This means coming to each shift well-groomed and in a complete uniform that is clean and pressed.

Madden's employees adhere to the following grooming guidelines:

• Good personal hygiene is expected at all times: daily bathing, deodorant, brush teeth regularly, use a mint after smoking
• Fragrances should be used sparingly.
• Keep hands clean, wash frequently. Keep nails clean and manicured. Bright, flashy nail polish colors are not acceptable; no chipped nails, use only one color on all your nails; ornaments and decals not permitted.
• Extreme hair colors and styles are not permitted.
• Keep make up conservative.
• Visible tattoos and body/facial piercings are not acceptable.
• Jewelry should be kept to a minimum; women may wear one small earring per earlobe.
• Mustaches, beards, goatees and sideburns must be well-trimmed; sideburns may not extend past the earlobe.
• Uniforms must be complete, clean, pressed.
• Wear the proper shoes for your job: clean, safe, in good repair
• Your nametag should be worn at all times
